Job Description:

Contract duration: 8 months

Position Description: Solution Architect to join Communications project team which specializes in the design and assembly of integrated systems processes, data, application and infrastructure components into optimal solutions that support the business.
Key responsibilities include:
* Responsible for the analysis and design of the J2EE application using Company’s unified methodology
* Assist application team with setting direction and standards for integration with the Fatwire software product
* Work with application teams to define, assemble and integrate components with the Fatwire software product (examples: hardware, software, requirements for availability, scalability and reliability)
* Define and implement architecture solution for all Fatwire components and integration touch points of Fatwire to overall application design
* Support the application team in the development of the application technical design
* Ensure that the solution does not prevent the functional requirements from being met
* Provide support such as troubleshooting to application teams when the architecture does not meet requirements (examples: performance, stability and network security)
* Advocate guiding application teams through the architecture review process and ensure compliance with Company IT Architecture standards
* Explain architectural decisions for the applications to IT management and the business customer
* Apply application design concept for a cross platform solution
* Work closely with data architect, DBA, and application architect, as required, for application design
* Support lead developers in construction and unit test processes
* Ensure all design, configuration, and application change management issues are addressed
* Coordinate with Program Architecture Team to resolve design and architectural issues that may arise
Skills/Experience Required:
* Solution Architect needs to have 9+ years working in all disciplines of IT
* 4+ years experience in designing and implementing solutions that integrate with the Fatwire software product for content management
* Work experience must be in IT covering new development, enhancements and production support roles
* Additionally candidates must have led a team in the design of new application at least once
* Experience with complex, large, multi-platform solutions is a strong plus
* Prefer experience in automotive manufacturing area
* Need to have strong Innovation, Technical Excellence, and communication skills
* Must ensure compliance with all corporate and program level standards and implement existing program-wide standards for development, security, user interface, interoperability, documentation, key methods and object model
* Object Oriented Analysis and Design experience
* Rational Unified Process experience
* J2EE development experience
* SQL server
* XML knowledge
* Lead UML Modeling experience
* Experience leading team design experience
